The hermit known as Kutkh resided near a cave in the Sairan kingdom near New Sinnet. After eating some strange mushrooms, he developed an uncontrolled connection with strange magic, and set off on his own strange adventure.
Kutkh, when first seen in 1181 ACI, was an old human man with tanned skin, a bald head, and long white beard. As a result of his wild magic, his appearance could change at an instant. He was known to gain or lose several inches in height, have his skin turn blue, or have his beard change from hair to feathers.
After dying to a hostile Pentadrone in Thebbigok's grove, Kutkh was reincarnated as a Dwarf. In this form, he was often seen with an unkempt and unbraided beard and short brown hair. He wore a vestment which would gradually shift colors with the changing of the seasons, and carried a large barrel on his back.
Kutkh, having lived by his lonesome in the wilderness for as long as he could remember, was a very strange figure. He often lacked tact and awareness in social situations, but was unafraid to speak his mind or stand up for his friends. Though he was occassionally abrasive, he was nonetheless willing to put himself in danger to protect others when the situation called for it.
Kutkh had a very outside-the-box approach to problem solving, and would often offer very creative and action-oriented ideas when at an impasse.
As a wild magic sorcerer, Kutkh could tap into a latent magic to cast spells, though each spell meant potentially triggering an unpredictable wild magic surge.
After being reincarnated, he began to walk the path of the druid, and so gained the ability to exercise more control over at least one discipline of magic. As a druid, he was also capable of transforming into various animal forms.
A variety of magic items passed into and out of the party's hands throughout their adventure. Kutkh was the only party member capable of using the immensely powerful Rod of Ressurection, which he used to revive Leotar after he died in Graz'zt's treasure room, to revive a firefly in the underdark, a citizen on the docks of Kyos, and the Triton Molos at the bottom of the Beryllic Sea.
An Ioun stone often floated around Kutkh's head.
